A. No Account Registration

Unlike many other icon directories, DownloadIcons does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to browse, search, or download icons. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or physical addresses as part of your normal browsing experience.

B. Anonymous Usage Data

When you visit the Site, our servers (managed by Cloudflare) automatically collect certain information that your web browser sends. This "Log Data" may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address (which is anonymized at the network edge), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.

This Log Data is used solely to understand Site performance, identify technical issues, and improve the overall user experience. We do not run any client-side analytics or tracking scripts on the Site.

C. Browser Local Storage

To provide a seamless experience without requiring an account, we use your browser's localStorage technology to store your "Favorites" list and any UI preferences (such as dark mode settings). This data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with any third parties. You have full control over this data and can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's cache or website data.

3. How We Use Information

The limited, anonymous information we collect is used in the following ways:

  • To Provide and Maintain our Service: Ensuring the Site is accessible and functioning correctly across different browsers and devices.

  • Cloudflare (Hosting & Security): Our Site is hosted on Cloudflare's global network. Cloudflare processes IP addresses to provide security features (like bot protection) and to serve content from the server closest to you. Cloudflare is a participant in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

All images, icons, and assets on the Site are served from our own infrastructure — we do not embed third-party image, font, or media CDNs. We do not use third-party advertising networks, affiliate tracking, or invasive "retargeting" scripts.

5. Data Retention

As we do not maintain user profiles, we do not store "personal data" in the traditional sense. Aggregate analytics data is kept for a period sufficient to perform year-over-year comparisons (typically 12-24 months) before being purged. Server logs used for security purposes are generally rotated and deleted within 30 days.

6. Your Rights (GDPR Compliance)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have certain data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
